First Assembly Community Ministries only happens because so many volunteers get involved. A crucial piece to making things happen in our office setting are volunteers who work with us in a variety of capacities.
The volunteer we're recognizing this month is Joyella Morehouse--a person who's made a difference for a long time here at her church.

Areas of
Ministry:
Office – mostly Life Groups
How did you get
involved?
I started volunteering at the receptionist desk
How long have you
been serving in this ministry?
2 years at the receptionist desk and 6 months with Life
Groups only.
Why do you serve?
Honestly, I started volunteering in the office because I
needed to get out of the house. But I
found I really enjoyed working with the people.
I love spreadsheets and Life Groups have a lot of need for them. I ended up having so much to do for Life
Groups that I transitioned out of reception and into just helping Life
Groups. Although I still occasionally
help others in the office.
What’s the best part
of serving in this ministry?
Feeling useful in being able to use my gift/passion for
spreadsheets.
Why should other
people serve in this ministry?
It’s nice to work with people who truly appreciate their
volunteers! It is a good feeling to know
what I’m doing is making a difference and helping the church.
What is one story
where you’ve see First Assembly’s mission play out (“to create a community
where waves of people are transformed by the love of God”)?
What I do to help Life Groups is necessary for Life Groups
to run smoothly. Life Groups help people
get connected to First Assembly and to God and His people. I’ve heard of unbelievers asking Life Group
Leaders for prayer for things going on in their lives. That is a big part of what I love about Life
Groups…showing people the love of God and that He is the ultimate Healer.
